About Botox®

Botox® is the #1 selling product of its kind in the US and the world.

Your lines don't define you–get the subtle results you've been looking for with Botox®. You can get treated for both frown lines and crow's feet areas at the same time. Botox® Cosmetic is the only FDA-approved treatment to temporarily improve both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crow's feet in adults. Botox® Cosmetic targets the underlying cause of frown lines and crow's feet–repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. It temporarily reduces this muscle activity, so you'll notice a visible smoothing of these lines.

Botox® Cosmetic results will not look overdone. As a technique-sensitive treatment, you should not lose the ability to show expression. The treatment takes approximately 10 minutes per procedure and requires minimal downtime or recovery–it is often called a "lunchtime procedure." Botox® Cosmetic is proven to last up to four months for moderate to severe frown lines.

Botox® Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Botox®?

Botox® is a purified protein, approved by the FDA to temporarily improve moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and horizontal lines on the forehead and face.

2. How does Botox® work?

Botox® temporarily reduces muscle activity, relaxing the folds made by frowning or squinting.

3. What is the difference between Botox® and dermal fillers?

Botox® acts on the muscles themselves, smoothing the lines. Fillers are used to replace lost volume, reducing the appearance of deep folds or wrinkles.

4. How long does Botox® last?

The average Botox® treatment lasts approximately 3 to 4 months.

5. Are Botox® injections painful?

You will feel a quick sting with each injection.

6. Which areas on my face can I have Botox® injected?

The most common treatment areas are the forehead, frown line (between the eyebrows), and crow’s feet, but Botox® may also be used to smooth areas of the neck and jawline.

7. How long until I can see the final results after my first treatment?

You will see results within 10 to 15 days in most cases.

8. Will I still be able to make facial expressions?

Yes. The effects of Botox® on muscle movement are subtle and limited to the treatment area.

9. Can I have an allergic reaction to Botox®?

Allergic reactions to Botox®, though possible, are very rare.

10. What are the risks and side effects?

Headaches and bruising are among reported, but rare, side effects.

11. How often will I need Botox® treatment?

Every person is different. Your frequency of treatment will depend on your desired results. The average interval between treatments is 3 to 4 months.

12. How is the recovery time?

There is no downtime with Botox® injections. You can return to work or your regular routine immediately following treatment.

13. Can I have Botox® along with other skin care cosmetic treatments?

Juvederm® Frequently Asked Questions

1. How does Juvederm® work?

Hyaluronic acid is a natural, complex sugar which improves skin elasticity, delivers nutrients, hydrates the skin by holding in water, and acts as a cushioning agent. By adding volume into the lips, lines and creases around the mouth become smoother, more supple and create a more youthful appearance. Over time, the product is harmlessly absorbed into the body. Juvederm® is a Hyaluronic acid product that is a FDA-approved treatment using this crystal-clear gel to produce a smooth, youthful appearance.

2. What are the different filler types used to treat?

Juvederm® comes in two formulations: Ultra and Ultra Plus. Both are FDA-approved to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds), and last about a year – Ultra is recommended for moderate wrinkles and folds, while Ultra Plus is recommended for deeper ones. Ultra is also approved for lip augmentation. Vollure™ is also FDA-approved to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds and can last up to 18 months. Voluma® is the first FDA-approved dermal filler for the midface and offers the appearance of a cheek lift with a simple injection. After the injection, you will have a very natural-looking cheek lift without the need for surgery. Results from this dermal filler last up to two years. Volbella® is FDA-approved for both lip augmentation and treating vertical lip lines. While Volbella® achieves a subtler amount of lip augmentation than Ultra, it is the only filler in the line that can treat vertical lip lines. Both can last up to a year. Juvederm® dermal fillers with an "XC" in its label contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic that reduces injection-related discomfort, swelling, and bruising.

3. How much filler is typically used?

Juvederm®™ products are sold by the syringe and the number of syringes required for maximum result will be discussed with you during your consultation. Juvederm® treatment is noticeable immediately and normal activities can be resumed as soon as the treatment is completed.

4. What can I expect during the procedure and post-care?

Juvederm® is injected into the area to be treated and can be smoothed or sculpted after injection, which results in a natural look. Juvederm® is injected directly into the skin using a fine needle to reduce injection discomfort however you may choose to anesthetize the treatment area with topical numbing cream to further minimize discomfort. Ice is applied to locally numb prior to injections. Injections may cause some discomfort during and after the injection. Any minor bruising or redness occurring at injection site can easily be corrected with makeup.
