About Mariposa Family Medicine

Tani is the owner and founder of Mariposa Family Medicine. Tani started her medical career at age 15 as a nursing assistant driven by her desire to help others. She worked her way up from EMT Basic to a Master ER Tech at UNMH Level 1 ER and was a volunteer FF/EMT with Bernalillo County Fire only to find her path in nursing. She has been a Registered Nurse since 1996, gaining years of advanced clinical expertise in Adult and Pediatric Emergency, Cardiac, Medical and Neuro Intensive Cares, Flight Nursing, EMS Paramedic Instructor/Clinical Director and lastly, an ICU Educator at SRMC before going back to school for her FNP. She became a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) in 1999 and a Certified Critical Care RN (CCRN) in 2006.

She graduated from University of St. Francis with a Master's degree in Nursing, Family Practice in 2015 and is a board certified FNP-C with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the New Mexico Nurse Practitioner Council.

She has worked for Optum and TeamHealth providing comprehensive primary and urgent care to all ages. She started Mariposa Family Medicine to provide comprehensive care with the focus on quality of care and fostering better patient provider relationships. She is certified in medical esthetics and is skilled in Botox and dermal fillers. She is a certified Evexipel Practitioner specializing in hormone optimization for both men and women.
